Free Hugs: London, England

My mother and step-father live in England.

Whenever we go to visit them, we take the train into London.
As crazy as some of my ideas and dreams in life are to my mother, she always supports them. For this trip, I told her and my step-father, (who is British) that I wanted to give out, “Free Hugs,” in one of the busiest areas of London. They were very supportive and curious about my idea.

My Mom even helped me color in my, “Free Hugs,” sign on the train ride to the big city.

My Mom filmed me with my tiny hand-held camera. It was one of the most memorable things that I have done in my life. The powerful emotions throughout the experience were incredible. I cried. Two of the people I hugged cried too. It felt so good and so right to give love unconditionally to strangers.

After my Free Hugs experience, I got a new tattoo. Each section of this tattoo represents one of my children and one for my husband, Joe. They all picked a different color to represent them which was colored in the tiny crescent moon in each section. I love that this is representative of them and that fact that they’ve always, “got my back!”

Here is my Mom, Darlene, getting her first tattoo. It is a butterfly.

You are never too old, or too young to know what you want in life! Everyone in this Earth is deserving of freedom and respect. I am so grateful to have a mother in my life that is living her bliss and growing as a person everyday. She is a reminder to me that this path of personal expansion never ends in life.

  1. I love this – especially the free hugs. How long did you give them out for and who was filming?

  2. Have you ever read what Krishnamurti says about education?

  3. I think this is a great message and your free hugs video brought a happy tear to my eye 🙂

  4. Hi Dayna

You came to Camden! My son was born in Camden and we lived in London for many years till we moved to the countryside about an hour away. Do you have any plans to visit this way again in the near future?
We started our journey into unschooling about 6 months ago, we love it, you inspire us. Keep up the great work and dream manifestation.
